Linens produces wonderful washable hand-dyed
linens. They only use Zweigart linens and hand-dye
their fabrics with dyes made specifically for the
textile industry.
Their
fabrics are dyed with fiber-reactive dyes that have been
used in the textile industry for over 40 years.
Fiber-reactive dyes bond with the fabric during the dye
process. The resulting fabric is extremely
color-fast and light-fast. Although they follow
the same dying procedure every time and are obsessive
about color, there are a number of variables beyond
their control that can result in variations in color and
mottling between dye lots. Unfortunately, they cannot
guarantee consistency between dye lots. But
when dealing with hand-dyed fabrics, this is kind of a
given.
They
recommend hand-washing your linens in a basin of warm
water containing a small amount of Orvus
detergent. Rinse thoroughly, line dry and press
with a hot iron. NOTE: Be sure that your threads
are washable if you intend to wash your projects.

Vintage Linen
Lakeside
Linens has a new line called "Vintage"
linen. This linen comes in the same colors and
counts as their regular line but is much more distressed
and tends to be lighter in color. Each piece is
unique so the image is only representative of what you
will receive. Please note that each side is
different from the other so you may find yourself choosing
to stitch one project on one side and another project on
the other!
Fabric is available in Stitchers Halves (approx 27” x 36”)
and Stitcher’s Quarters (approx 27” x 18”)
Vintage linen is available in 10ct 19ct, 28ct, 32ct, 36ct
and 40 ct. Please note: The count will affect the
